This 320-foot vehicle and passenger ferry is of all welded steel construction, and was purpose built for protected waters transport. The vessel has a flat main deck for vehicle loading over either end, with the beam well forward and aft over broad, forward hull flair and a wide, rounded stern. The flat-bottom hull has a shallow draft and is set up with its twin propellers and rudders in tunnels so as not to protrude below the hull body.
Above the main deck finds four enclosed, or partly enclosed, passenger decks, with the fifth deck finding an open passenger area with the full breadth pilothouse forward. Handicapped accessibility is a feature throughout the vessel.
Sub-chapter H – U.S. Coast Guard vessel rating of unlimited tonnage and is currently allowed to carry a maximum of 895 passengers and 100 passenger cars on lakes, bays, and sounds.
